Gratitude Notes

The Why: A short, sincere thank-you has an outsized impact. While public recognition is great, a private note creates a deeper 1:1 connection. It signals to the recipient that they are valued and respected, while helping the sender develop the habit of scanning for the positive.

The How: Take two minutes to write a note of appreciation on paper, via email, or in a direct chat message. The key is specificity.

  • Generic: “Good job.”
  • Specific: “Thanks for the extra effort on that data analysis. It really helped us make the right decision in the client meeting.”

The Ripple Effect: This practice simultaneously strengthens trust and motivation. It is a pure expression of Value and Appreciation. When this becomes a regular part of the daily workflow rather than an afterthought, the culture shifts from competitive to collaborative, and reinforces the Interdependent Partnership by proving everyone can validate and uplift one another daily.
